Gothic and Ghostly Nudes

Since the early days of Photoshop I have been experimenting with overlays and blending images to create Gothic and ghostly nudes. All the figures in my photographs are real women. The other elements are mostly from my collection of 50,000+ images. I occasionally use a stock or an AI generated image as part of the background.

Where AI has really helped is with the editing process. The selection and masking of elements of an image still takes time but complex selections such as hair or foliage have become much easier.

Tools like Content Aware Fill are great for removing figures and regenerating the backgrounds when I forgot or did not have chance to shoot a blank frame. A more ghostly image of the figure can then be pasted back on top.
