Personal space is a collection of nude portraits of women at home in their environment. They are surrounded by treasured possessions and sometimes the detritus of real life. Stripping away clothing means the viewer only has the surroundings from which to glean information about the subject.
Rendering the images in black and white allows the viewer to concentrate on the individual graphic elements. This project has been ongoing for many years. Some of the pictures were shot on black and white film. With the choice digital offers elements of colour are starting to creep in. This will be more obvious in the second gallery, Personal Space Take 2 Colour (mostly)
