Vintage 1980 nude photos from a time when hair was big and all there was to capture an image was film.

The cameras were big as well. The header images were taken on a Mamiya RB 67, try picking one of those up and shoving it in your pocket. (Want to know a bit more about the RB67?) Even 35mm cameras were a fairly chunky piece of kit and all there was to capture the image was film. (If you wanted to make a phone call you had to find a big red box and have some change handy).

Pressing the shutter button was not the end of the process: you then had to retreat into a darkened room, load the film into a tank in total darkness and use some noxious, smelly chemicals to process it. An hour or so later, when everything had dried you could finally make contact sheets and prints to find out whether you had measured the light correctly, got everything in focus and see if the model had blinked.
